We are so proud to have been the owners of this beautiful, noble stallion. Who would have imagined that his final destination was to be our small stud in Norway. This was like a fairy tale for us, and a dream that came true. We were privileged to be able to let him live a life with nature in the fields together with his precious mares.
Peleng was National Champion in Holland in 1988 and 1989. His sire Nabeg made an impression all over the world with his sons Nariadni, Neman, Menes and Peleng.
Peleng had beautiful, big eyes, a dry nice head, very good legs and a good body. He was the sire of many good horses, one of the best known stallions is Gomel who is a breeding stallion at the Kossack Stud in Holland. Gomel was also competing in dressage at Prix st Georg Level.
Peleng was a happy horse in our farm. He lived in a close relationship with his mares and he passed away in the middle of his kingdom, together with his mares in his own big field. His heart just stopped one day and he lay down in the middle of the field. We tried to get him up, but the light just went out of his eyes and he was gone before we even could call the vet.
It was a sad day for us, but in the end a fitting end for a king who had travelled the world from Russia, to Holland, to U.S.A, and back again to Holland, then England, and Holland again. The final destination was to be Norway, where he started his own dynasty of brood mares. We see him every day in the eyes of Orkide, the mind and body of SR El Patron and the movements of SR
Gaia.
Peleng will stay in our hearts forever. |
